Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve

Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve
Imagine over 56,000 hectares of forested mountains, with millions of monarch butterflies flying around.
This reserve is located in the state of Michoacán and part of the State of Mexico; It was registered as a natural asset in 2008.
Every year, it receives these butterflies that migrate to start their reproductive stage, since here they have the necessary conditions to develop and mate. The monarch butterfly, in addition to being a species of great beauty, is characterized by its resistance and longevity, since it lives up to 9 months.
